Project Overview

MotionWell is a fictional physical therapy practice created as a portfolio project to demonstrate my web design and development process. It is not a real company or healthcare provider.

I designed and developed the website to explore how a modern physical therapy practice could provide patients with a welcoming, accessible, and easy-to-navigate online experience. The site helps users explore services and conditions, learn about therapists, access patient resources, and find clear paths toward scheduling care.

Built in WordPress with Kadence Pro, the project incorporates custom post types and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create flexible, reusable content. Throughout the project, I focused on UX/UI design, responsive development, accessibility, content organization, and creating a cohesive experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Highlights

  • Designed and developed a fully responsive multi-page WordPress website for a fictional physical therapy practice, with layouts optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Created a clear information architecture and user journey connecting services, conditions treated, therapists, patient resources, and appointment-focused calls to action.
  • Built a dynamic Therapists system using Custom Post Types (CPT UI), Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and Query Loop blocks for reusable, centrally managed provider content.
  • Designed reusable service and condition layouts to maintain visual consistency while supporting a larger healthcare-focused content structure.
  • Developed responsive components and device-specific layout adjustments to ensure complex sections—including hero areas, cards, navigation, and calls to action—adapt effectively across screen sizes.
  • Created a consistent design system for typography, colors, buttons, cards, spacing, imagery, and other reusable interface elements throughout the website.
  • Structured calls to action around key patient needs, providing clear pathways to explore services, find a therapist, contact the practice, and schedule an appointment.
